Your points are well taken, Joey. This is what keeps me up at night: Old profit margins won't do, certainly. But where would you look to find new ones? Given that a) we don't have 10 years to wait for new business models and b) I don't expect there to be any new bodies coming to the old media any time soon. I'm trying to find an answer that allows the media to shift radically toward web-centred journalism, while not laying off 75 per cent of its staff in the process.
