Anyone who has listened to audio testimonials from grateful CBC employees to Tod Maffin, as compiled by Mark Blevis .. or read this blog post by Shelagh Rogers in The Caravan Unlocked .. or who has met Tod, as I have knows enough to disregard what one strangely fanatical anon might have to say about him. As for speculation as to why Tod eventually chose to take down his blog, honestly, who really cares? In the end, it served its purpose. And from the sounds of the testimonials, it served it well. Just Google 'Tod Maffin lockout' and you'll see for yourself. And honestly, even if I didn't know Tod? Between believing what an anon troll has to say and believing Shelagh Rogers, my money's on Shelagh who says in her blog post, in reference to Canadians ... and to Tod: "I've also learned that they want more of a voice. And maybe with the success of the podcasts and blogs that the indefatigable, irreplaceable Tod Maffin corralled into cbcunplugged we will see more room being made for the listener." Indefatigable. Irreplaceable. Shelagh Rogers' words. Not mine. I'm quite happy to sign this comment - I see someone else has (unsurprisingly) disregarded your request. So please allow me to take advantage of this forum to send a little message from me to your anonymous commenter : Those who can, do. Those who can't just sit back and wallow in unconstructive criticism. Funny .. it all sounds like petty jealousy to me. Very petty. Sad, really. Thanks Bill, for the opportunity to get this off my chest. It's been grating on my last nerve for the longest time. And don't worry, Bill, your blog is not about to become a war zone.
