Re: The LAT's shot at Google

In regards to the "LAT's shot at Google" and feedback, you might find this Globe and Mail story and reader comments of interest. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070803.wgtiphone0803/BNStory/Technology The Globe writer has developed the story about the impact of bringing an Iphone to Canada. The lead to hook the readers is a Canadian who got hauled over at customs with an undeclared Iphone. It is an interesting story but even more interesting is the comments section in which the returning Canadian, having read the story, objects to the spin of the lead. Then he comes back to protest again in the discussions in the comments section as readers offer their opinions some of which flay him. There are a couple of dimensions to the story. One is, given the subject's complaints about the angle, who's got it right: the subject or reporter? But on the next level is the immediacy of the Internet where a story being built is being questioned at the same time it is published. In fact, in one comment, the subject credits the Globe web site for editing (changing) the story after his first complaint.
