who employs me
I am a staff writer with CTV.ca News. That operation is part of CTV News, which is of course nestled into CTV Inc. and CTVglobemedia.

I don't speak for my employer on this blog. I don't comment about the internal affairs of my employer.

Any views expressed here are my own.

Yep. Now that I've said that, there are circumstances in which people can rightfully complain. Edmonton's Whyte Ave. nabe went from funky and artsy to a commercial bar strip in a relatively short period. People got to go to bed seeing people peeing on their lawns and waking up to puddles of vomit on their sidewalk. The city allowed too many bars that were too big. In 2001, there was a riot on Canada Day in 2001. And last year, there was all sorts of mayhem associated with the Stanley Cup revelry. But I've seen no evidence of such out-of-control behaviour here, so I'm not on the side of the Little Italy puritans.
