who employs me
I am a staff writer with CTV.ca News. That operation is part of CTV News, which is of course nestled into CTV Inc. and CTVglobemedia.

I don't speak for my employer on this blog. I don't comment about the internal affairs of my employer.

Any views expressed here are my own.

View Article  Much ado about Twitter; so let's see if I can get a basic question answered

OJR's Robert Niles is pimping Twitter.

View Article  Bushisms

The BBC has a good collection in an article entitled The 'misunderestimated' president?

If you want to see the goofy side of the early Bush, look for a documentary called Journeys With George, by Alexandra Pelosi. It's her "home movie" of the 2000 U.S. presidential campaign.

In it, Dubya does an imitation of himself mangling his stump speech that really is quite funny.

Unforunately, his presidency was no laughing matter.

View Article  Bush in tag clouds

Dubya held his final newser this morning. Here's a tag cloud from Twitscoop:

Bush's final newser got people tweeting, as this chart (captured shortly after the newser started) shows:

And here's a BBC tag cloud analyzing Bush's eight State of the Union speeches:

There's lots of other charts attached to that page, so click through.

It would be interesting to see word maps of other modern U.S. presidents' SOTU speeches.

View Article  'Coalition crisis and the media' post grinds onward

I've updated this post: For 2009, what to learn from the coalition crisis?

I'm getting close to being done with how the media reported it. I'm now moving into how the blogosphere handled the crisis.
