Clean coal technology primer

The BBC has a backgrounder on clean coal technology. It talks about washing coal, gasifying it, capturing particulates and other pollutants and, last but not least, capturing carbon dioxide emissions.

This oxymoron must rank as one of the most successful and destructive PR intiatives ever conceived. Hopefully whoever thought it up is dead.

Imagine if this person had worked for the tobacco industry though. Instead of "light cigarettes" we'd have "healthy tobacco".
