For whatever reason, a number of marketeers have been emailing me lately. Here's some sample messages.
Hello Bill
My name is Yvonne. I spent some time reading your blog today and enjoyed
your post on the World Cup.

qualified individuals and I feel you could be a great candidate. Please
have a look at the below criteria and feel free to contact me with any

Hi Bill,
I’ve noticed from your blog that your interests include all things culture, politics and Canada, so we thought you might also be interested to hear about what we’re sharing with other select bloggers.
We’ve been asked by (snip) to help highlight to Canadians what it is that makes a “real” mountain (snip), and what others in the (snip) industry only claim to be “real”. We’re basically trying to set the record straight, and let Canadians know they’re being misled about something that many take seriously: (snip).
We’re inviting a few folks to take a sneak peak at a web site (snip) will be launching in the next day or so. If you’re inclined, feel free to share this with your readers, and to rip the photos and images. You can check it out at (snip).
We’d also like to provide you with news about some of the exclusive events coming up in your region. Let us know if you want to be on our list.
We’re excited about being able to talk directly to Canadians, so don’t hesitate to give us your feedback.
Cheers
Teri
Let's see: I don't really write about cellphone technology or marketeering, and I can't get too excited about dueling products in a certain industry (whose product I don't find particularly tasteful to begin with).
So how do these people come up with my name?
I can only presume the marketeering industry in this country monitors blogs, and that my stats have gotten high enough to put me on their radar (the last two months have required extra bandwith purchases, but so far this month, things are down from my June peak).
Hopefully people will stop visiting and put me back down below the radar. :)
But as a general note to marketeers, I'm really not interested in helping you sell or spin stuff.
Please leave me alone. Give your cellphones and downloadable images to some other deserving blogger.
Thank you.
