Stephen Colbert and Ariana Huffington, of the Huffington Post fame, sparred over blogging and other topics Wednesday night on the Colbert Report.

It's worth checking out: Two very bright, very witty people having a great time engaging in verbal jujitsu! Excellent talk TV!

You can see the video here.

Back in 1996, Huffington did a show with Al Franken called Strange Bedfellows, in which she lay in bed with Franken and talked politics. She credits him with turning her into a liberal.

"I talked to Al today and he's willing to try it with you -- a kind of political 'Brokeback Mountain'," she said.

"I think I might be able to quit Al," replied Colbert.

Huffington said she started the Huffington Post because "we wanted something for the junkies, the news junkies, who couldn't wait until 11:30."

The Post is home to Huffington's celebrity liberal friends, people like Franken, Bill Maher, Larry David and Nora Ephron.

"Thank God Hollywood people finally have a place to express their views!" exclaimed Colbert with mock relief.

"Because you know, if the war was any indication, they really can change things. People love hearing what they think!"
