Dr. Wafta Sultan, a Syrian American psychiatrist, went on al-Jazeera on Feb. 21 and said the battle within Islam was one between the forces of barbarism and modernity, and that the violent, reactionary side of Islam would lose. The effect of that outburst has been, er, polarizing. more »
