Jeffrey M. Johnson, the Los Angeles Times publisher who pushed back against job cuts requested by the parent Tribune Co., is now an ex-publisher. He has been replaced with David Hiller, publisher of the Chicago Tribune.
Newsroom staffers have circulated a petition in support of editor Dean Baquet, who shared the same view on the cuts as Johnson. more »

Michelle Malkin, an off-the-scales U.S. conservative yapper, posted a video to YouTube to continue her spat with management there over a video of hers they had pulled back in February. A sample quote: "The YouTube crackdown is targeting those of us who unapologetically criticize the throat-slitters who would bomb us all back to the Middle Ages. Oops. Is that 'hateful' and 'inappropriate'?" Malkin concluded by saying: "YouTube: You've gone dhimmy." More (including a link to the video) at this NYT blog post by Virginia Hefferman.
