This was my best month ever for page views, but oddly, the stuff I posted in July wasn't getting clicked on very much. Observe:
1. A fake American in Toronto (June 26)
2. Elvis's death day (Aug. 16/04)
3. June's dominant clickthroughs (July 2)
4. In the spirit of Guy Fawkes (June 22)
5. Billy Jack set to kick ass again (June 21)
6. BBC to put accuracy before speed -- or is it taste? (June 23)
7. Blogs as media courts of appeal (June 24)
8. New media guru makes appearance on The Daily Show (March 4)
9. Help smear Wal-Mart! :) (June 2)
10. 'Media v. evangelicals' (June 27)
Here are the most popular posts from July only:
11. 'Why newspapers are betting on audience participation' (July 6)
12. Happy Independence Day, USA! (July 4)
13. Zerby on citizen journalism (July 13)
14. Personal Live 8 hi-lites and other observations (July 3)
15. When will it be Canada's turn? (July 7)
16. Rabid Fox nips at Beeb, Guardian (July 14)
17. 'Citizens of the world, report!' (July 9)
18. Snap (three second pause) snap (July 2)
19. Is this really such a bad licence plate design? (July 17)
And here, in no particular order, are some postings I wish had been read more:
'Terrorism, transit and safety' (July 28)
Theo Van Gogh's Killer (July 27)
Haggart's G&M commentary on the London shooting and the media (July 27)
On July 21, I made a number of posts relating to hunger in Africa. It was one of my worst days of the month for page views. :(
Happy 60th birthday (July 16)
Ignore the terrorists: Lawrence Martin (July 14)
'Are you full of shit?' 'I'm a journalist' (July 14)
Frankly, I'm completely mystified as to why that piece wasn't the most clicked-on story for the month. If you're a journalist, read the full column. If you don't think it's a classic piece of satirical writing about modern journalism, I want to know why.
