That's how often an Iraqi civilian or police officer dies, on average, as a result of insurgent activity. It works out to about 800 per month, says the Iraq Interior Ministry. But strangely, the number of Iraqi civilians killed by U.S. military operations in Iraq wasn't included in the 10-month, 8,175 total. Nor was the death toll in the Kurdish-controlled areas. more »
