A German politician has resigned after pouring wine on the head of a homeless person.

Must be a significantly different political culture over there than say, Alberta.

An excerpt from the BBC story:

Peter Gloystein, Economy Minister in the state of Bremen, doused a stunned Udo Oelschlaeger during the launch of German wine week last Wednesday.

"Here's something for you to drink," he said as he poured the wine. "Who are you? Why are you doing this?," a tearful Mr Oelschlaeger retorted.

Mr Gloystein said he had met Mr Oelschlaeger later and apologised.

In Ralph's case, I always thought going into a homeless shelter, yelling at people and then throwing some money on the floor before leaving was the ultimate in "compassionate conservatism." :)
