Long have I wondered why the Christian Right in the U.S. has become so much more dominant than the Christian Left.

I'm agnostic, but I can't help imagining Jesus would be more than a little freaked by some of the utterances in his name by Christian conservatives (although having said that, I must shame-facedly admit that some of the genuinely nicest people I've ever met have been Christian conservatives).
